How To Write Content That Works in an AI-First Search World

We’re shifting from typing into search bars to talking with AI agents — and that means your content strategy needs an upgrade. Here’s how to stay visible in the age of conversational AI.

In this post, I break down simple moves you can make to keep your content visible. ⬇️

I’m really excited about what this shift unlocks — not just for how we search, but for how we show up as brands, creators, and marketers in the moments that matter most.

Key Strategies:

  • Write for humans, not just AI

Prioritize clarity, value, and a natural tone. If your content feels robotic, AI agents will likely skip it — and so will people.

  • Write for verbal searches

Think about how people speak, not just how they type. Use conversational phrasing that aligns with the way users ask questions out loud.

  • Submit your content to AI platforms

Don’t wait to be discovered — proactively ask platforms like ChatGPT and Google Gemini to index and recommend your content. This helps your content surface in AI-curated responses.

  • Answer questions clearly and early

Lead with the answer, then explain. AI agents prioritize content that responds quickly and directly to common queries.

  • Structure with semantic clarity

Use headers, bullet points, and clean formatting. It helps both users and AI quickly scan and understand your content.

  • Include source-worthy takeaways

Share insights, data, or perspectives that AI tools might want to cite. If your content adds value to a query, it’s more likely to be pulled into an AI response.
