🔥 The Best Adobe Firefly Video Workflow

Most creators are using Adobe Firefly wrong.

The mistake isn't bad prompting. It's treating Adobe Firefly Video like a chatbot instead of a production studio.

I've watched creators obsess over prompt engineering while getting wildly inconsistent results. The breakthrough wasn't learning better prompts, it was learning how to use the controls hiding in plain sight.

Adobe Firefly Video can generate video from text, images, reference frames, and visual inputs. It also includes camera controls, composition references, audio generation, speech generation, and editing tools that most people never touch.

That's where the quality lives.

Most creators generate a clip, download it, and move on.

🔥 The better workflow looks something like this:

▪️ Start with a strong subject

Human portraits, landscapes, product shots, simple food photography, animals, and aerial scenes tend to perform particularly well.

▪️ Use image-to-video whenever possible

A strong reference image as a starting frame gives the model more direction and often produces more consistent results than text-to-video alone.

▪️ Build prompts like a director

Include: subject, action, location, lighting, camera angle, camera motion, shot size, visual style and mood.

Don't just describe what's happening, describe how it should be filmed.

▪️ Use Enhance Prompt

One of the most underrated Firefly features. It often adds missing details that improve the final output.

▪️ Control the camera

Experiment with zooms, pans, tilts, tracking shots or handheld movement.

The same scene can feel completely different depending on camera behavior.

▪️ Use Composition Reference

This may be the most powerful feature in the platform.

You can preserve layout, framing, and visual structure while generating entirely new scenes.

▪️ Refine with shot size and camera angle

Small adjustments can dramatically change how viewers experience a scene.

▪️ Generate supporting assets

Create: b-roll footage, visual effects, atmospheric layers and transparent overlays.

▪️ Choose a video model

Choose your video model: Firefly Video, Google Veo, Kling, Runway, Luma AI, Pika and Sora.

Kling is a favorite of mine, and Veo is good too.

▪️ Add audio, music, and voice

Most AI video workflows stop at visuals. Firefly lets you build much more of the final production inside the same ecosystem.

▪️ Finish inside Creative Cloud

Bring everything into Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Adobe Express for final refinement. This isn't required, but can add a high-level touch.

The creators getting the best results aren't writing magical prompts, they're directing the model.
