The era of invisible AI is officially coming to an end in Europe.

The EU just made transparency a feature—not an option.
New transparency rules under the EU AI Act are now in effect, requiring companies to clearly disclose when users are interacting with AI and when realistic images, video, audio, or other content have been generated or manipulated by AI.
Providers must also add machine-readable markers to synthetic media, with significant penalties for non-compliance.
Here's the real story:
The AI race is no longer just about building smarter models.
It's about building trustworthy ones.
Over the next few years, transparency, provenance, and disclosure will become standard parts of AI products—just as privacy notices became standard after GDPR.
The companies that embrace trust as a product feature will have an advantage over those that treat compliance as an afterthought.
