🔥 Google I/O Just Leveled Up The Creator Game: Here’s Why.

Google used I/O to say: AI is no longer a feature layer.
It’s becoming the operating layer across Search, Gemini, Android, Workspace, YouTube, shopping, coding, media creation, and hardware.
If that sounds like just another feature list, it’s not.
Here’s why:
We’ve arrived at what Google calls the “agentic Gemini era,” with two major model updates: Gemini Omni and Gemini 3.5.
➜ Gemini Omni is positioned as Google’s next big multimodal creation model, starting with video, while Gemini 3.5 Flash is built for speed, action, and agentic workflows.
➜ Google search is undergoing a massive change to include a more intelligent Search box, richer AI results, and the ability to use agents simply by asking a question.
This means Google Search is becoming more agentic.
In fact, Search might be the best place for Gemini in the long run.
Not the only place, but we have decades of people that have a compulsive brain loop of going to Google to get answers, and in the AI era that can still be a go-to place.
It also means it pushes search even further away from “links on a page” and closer to “AI that researches, plans, summarizes, and acts.”
If you're a creator that counted on Google traffic for your business, this was the last nail in the coffin of that era.
Better AI Workflows for Creators
➜ For creators and marketers, the most interesting layer is Google’s move into AI-native production workflows.
Google wants creators to produce, edit, plan, and publish inside an AI-supported system, not just generate one-off assets.
Gemini Omni, Google Flow updates, AI video creation, smarter image tools, and Workspace/Docs-style assistant features.
➜ For developers and businesses, Google framed this as a move from prompts to action.
Agentic workflows are now a core developer platform play, not just a consumer AI demo.
Gemini 3.5 Flash is being positioned as a faster model for real-world agents, coding, automation, and app-building. Google also highlighted developer tools like Antigravity and Gemini API updates.
Google AR and XR
Google also made hardware part of the story again with Android XR and smart glasses, including work with partners like Samsung, Warby Parker, Xreal, and Gentle Monster.
The point wasn’t just “Google Glass is back.” The deeper signal is that Google wants Gemini to move from screens into cameras, audio, vision, translation, and real-world context.
